From the Nature Journal: Europe

* Exhibited June 5, 2025 * From the Nature Journal: Europe

In September of 2024 I began documenting nature in a nature journal as a fun exercise and drawing practice. It was also a new way for my spouse and I to connect as she studies birds and wildlife. I would often draw and annotate what I observed then she would face the challenge of identifying through my observations.

However, it invoked a curiosity within that I didn’t know existed. I am now in Europe exploring a completely new (to me) world of biodiversity and it is fascinating! This exploration of course comes in collaboration with my amazing spouse, Josie Scordato, who frequently helps me identify and understand the behaviors of the wildlife I observe.

Since arriving in Europe, I have begun further development of some of my nature journal entries. The entries I choose to develop into finished work are of animals or scenery I have studied extensively. This body of work was exhibited in the early days of exploration and is continuing to expand as I explore.
